Through its Castle Learning Online (www.CastleLearning.com) web site, CASTLE Software provides a comprehensive review and assessment service to schools for use by their students and teachers. They provide review content in Social Studies, Math, Science, and Language Arts, allowing students to perform self-generated review sessions in addition to working on online assignments created by their teachers. Teachers can easily monitor all student activities, viewing detailed assessment reports, and creating assignments specific to the needs of their students.
Before providing a web-based service, CASTLE Software found that the barrier to get a software product into schools was very high because of the burden on the school's technology people. As a web-based service, there is virtually no administrator overhead for the schools, making it a much easier "buy" decision.
To deliver the service successfully, CASTLE Software knew that the site would need to be available to their users and loading pages quickly 24 hours a day, seven days a week. "Our product is the web site," explains Stephen Hersh of CASTLE Software, "so 'uptime' and performance have to be near perfect. INetU's focus is on companies who are using their websites for more than just a storefront, which means they understand that reliability is critical. The reliability of the service has been outstanding. I am aware of only a few minutes of 'downtime' in over 2 years. Other web hosting companies that we have used didn't come close to that level of reliability."
